STREATOR MILL COMPLETES
ISO/TS 16949:2002 AND ISO 14001:2004
CERTIFICATION
AUDIT

Streator, IL June 23, 2008 - Plymouth Tube Co.’s
Streator Mill has completed the
ISO/TS 16949:2002/ISO 9001:2000 surveillance audit 4.
The audits consisted of two auditors for 1.5 days of
auditing on all shifts. The audit consisted of one
auditor for ½ day of auditing at Warrenville and 3 days
of auditing Streator on all shifts.
Products offered include: ProMoly™ 4130
high performance tubing, a
product geared at various racing
industries. The
aim of ISO/TS16949 is the development of a quality
management system that provides for continual
improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the
reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.
TS16949 applies to the design/development, production
and, when relevant, installation and servicing of
automotive-related products, based on ISO 9001:2000
which is specific to the automotive production and
relevant service part organization. ISO 14001:2004
specifies requirements for
establishing an environmental
policy, determining
environmental aspects and
impacts of
products/activities/services,
planning environmental
objectives and measurable
targets, implementation and
operation of programs to meet
objectives and targets, checking
and corrective action, and
management review.

TOM CENTA NAMED CAT GROUP VICE PRESIDENT
|

Warrenville, IL May 13, 2008 - Plymouth
Tube Company announces Tom Centa as the new Vice
President of the CAT Group upon Dennis Lasker's
retirement. Tom began with Plymouth Tube in November 2004 as General Manager-Hot Mill. Most recently Tom was the Winamac Site General Manager where he was responsible for both Winamac operations which act as separate business units.
Tom has a BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering from
the Colorado School of Mines as well as MBA course work
from Lamar University. Tom has also worked six years
with Alcoa in a variety of managerial positions where he
successfully implemented the Alcoa Business System from
the ground up at a Brownfield extrusion plant.
Additionally Tom worked for a total of 11 years with
North Star Steel. During this time, Tom held a number of
positions in quality assurance, technical sales, and
production at four separate locations.
In his new role, Tom will provide leadership and
direction for the U.S. manufacturing and international
marketing of carbon and low alloy tubular products. Tom
will be responsible for the Carbon & Alloy Tube Group of
mills, which includes the Winamac, Eupora and Streator
operations.

MONTY KLUXHUAS ANNOUNCED AS WHITE METALS TECHNICAL MANAGER
|

WARRENVILLE, IL April 22, 2008 – Steve Thornton, Plymouth Tube Company’s VP of the White Metals Group., announces that Monty Kuxhaus has joined Plymouth Tube as White Metals Technical Manager.
Monty has a B.S. Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines & Tech. in Rapid City , SD , an M.S. Degree in Materials Science and Engineering form Northwestern University in Evanston , IL and an M.B.A. Degree from Bowling Green state University in Bowling Green , OH .
Monty has presented two papers for the TPA relating to the hydroforming of tubing in the automotive industry and chaired the TPA's Stainless Steel Tube conference in 1999 and 2000. Other metal related manufacturing experience includes forging, ring rolling, heat treating, flat rolling, beryllium power metal component production and cold heading of commercial fasteners.

EUPORA MILL COMPLETES ISO/TS 16949:2002 CERTIFICATION

Eupora, MS April 7, 2008 - Plymouth Tube Co.’s Eupora Mill has completed the ISO/TS 16949:2002 surveillance audits 3 and 4.
The audits consisted of two auditors for 1.5 days of auditing on all shifts. The Eupora Mill was established in 1985 built to supply the Hydraulic tube market and presently also serves the DOM tube market.
Products offered include:
HydraBrite® hydraulic fluid line
tubing, DOM A 513 type 5 and value add processes
such as short cut, end finishing and fabrication. The
aim of ISO/TS16949 is the development of a quality
management system that provides for continual
improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the
reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.
TS16949 applies to the design/development, production
and, when relevant, installation and servicing of

applied for and been accepted trademark status as of
November 20, 2007. Plymouth Tube Company's XtraLowStress™ remains the premiere supplier of austenitic stainless steel feedwater heater tubes used in 70% of all U.S. feedwater heater applications.
With over 325 million feet supplied, XtraLowStress™ has the lowest residual stress, making it far less susceptible to stress corrosion cracking, produced to ASME/ASTM SA/A688. Offering: U-Bending, Less than 5 ksi (34.5 MPa) residual stress in straight portion of tube, OD sizes ranging from 0.50-1.00” (12.7-25.4mm); and wall thicknesses from 0.035 – 0.134” (0.89-3.4mm). Used in Feedwater Heaters, Heat Exchangers, Condensers, HRSG’s, and Chemical Processing applications.
