WARRENVILLE, IL (April 01, 2024) – Plymouth Tube Company has announced the appointment of Charles Williams and Don Bent to its Board of Directors.
Charles “Chuck” Williams brings a distinguished career spanning both the public and private sectors to the Plymouth Board. He retired as a Rear Admiral after an impressive 32.5 years in the U.S. Navy, where he held significant leadership positions including Five Commanding Officer assignments. Following his decorated military service, Mr. Williams leveraged his strategic thinking and leadership skills to excel in the civilian world. He is currently CEO of Commercial Realty, a company specializing in real estate investment, development, management, and brokerage. Mr. Williams’ well-rounded background extends beyond real estate. His deep understanding of the defense industry, particularly in aerospace and marine programs, will be a valuable asset to Plymouth. Furthermore, his experience serving on various boards, including his role as Board Audit Committee Chairman for a national non-profit, showcases his commitment to strong governance practices. Chuck holds a B.S. in Business from Southeast Missouri University and MBA from St. Louis University in addition to executive programs from Harvard, Virginia, North Carolina, Naval and Army War Colleges, NATO school (Germany), Naval Post Graduate School, Center for Creative Leadership and National Association of Corporate Directors.
Don Bent is a dynamic manufacturing leader with a proven track record of success. Throughout his career, Don has led multi-site operations across various industries, most recently serving as COO of Oshkosh Corporation’s defense business. Prior to that, he led operations at Amcor Medical Flexibles, showcasing his adaptability and expertise across various manufacturing sectors. His commitment to collaboration and people-centric leadership aligns perfectly with Plymouth’s core values. Don’s extensive experience in lean manufacturing, safety, and continuous improvement will be invaluable in optimizing operations and driving growth. Moreover, his background in military armored vehicle manufacturing directly supports Plymouth’s focus on pathways to grow their German laminated armor products. Don’s passion for building strong teams and inspiring employees further strengthens the Board’s commitment to a positive and productive work environment. Don holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from GMI and an M.S. in Manufacturing Management from Kettering. His industry and non-profit Board experiences include the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance Automotive Council and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin
